Hi Neighbors,
The Fall Community Emergency Response Team Training dates have been announced:
Saturday September 19th 0830-1730 hrs.
Saturday September 26th 0830-1730 hrs.
Sunday September 27th 0830-1730 hrs.
This training is held at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) next to the fire station on Pacific Ave. in Monterey. Our neighborhood has seen the largest increase in CERT trained members in quite a few years recently. We’d like to continue this trend and build a strong network of neighbors that can work together during any future crisis.
Monterey CERT offers Community Emergency Response Team Training throughout the year.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
