Beach Cleanup This Saturday

About:
Save Our Shores is sponsoring 10 beach cleanups on Saturday in honor of Earth Day, including cleanups at Elkhorn Slough, Del Monte Beach and Carmel Beach.

Volunteer help is needed at cleanups slated for 4 Mile Beach, Cowell Beach, San Lorenzo River, Twin Lakes State Beach, Soquel Creek and Beer Can Beach in Santa Cruz County; and Elkhorn Slough, Del Monte Beach and Carmel Beach in Monterey County.

To get involved, go to saveourshores.org/volunteer/earth-day for more information; times for cleanups vary by location, although most are from 10 a.m. to noon.

All cleanup materials will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring reusable buckets, gloves and water bottles to help reduce waste. Individuals and groups are welcome.

On August 1st at 7:00 PM, City officials from the Police Department, Parking Division and the Traffic Engineer will be holding an open meeting with the community at The Bay View Academy auditorium just across the street.
