Parking – Action Required

Hello Friends and Neighbors.

On Thursday, August 1st the City Traffic Engineer, Parking Division Manager and a Monterey Police Officer were present at the Bay View School to meet with members of our community. The city officials were there to answer questions about a proposed parking permit program for our neighborhood as well as understand what approach members of our community would like to see if streets within our neighborhood did go through with any type of program.

Based off of the consensus from this meeting the City Traffic Engineer, Rich Deal, will move forward with two agenda items for the next City Council Meeting on September 20th. The first agenda item will be for parking permits on Tide Ave and Beach Way. The second agenda item will be for parking permits on Seafoam Ave.

If you would like for your comments, thoughts, opinions to be added to the file city council members will have for these two agenda items please email them to Rich Deal at [email protected]. Whether you live on these streets that are being proposed or not you are encouraged to email him and get your opinion on record. It is requested that these emails be submitted within the next week to ensure they can be added to the agenda.

You are also invited to attend the City Council meeting on September 20th.

Last Chance Meeting

Where:
Bay View Academy
222 Casa Verde Way

About:
On August 1st at 7:00 PM, City officials from the Police Department, Parking Division and the Traffic Engineer will be holding an open meeting with the community at The Bay View Academy auditorium just across the street.

Many of your neighbors still have questions about what is really going on and why.

What is being proposed will be the largest change our neighborhood has seen since the under-grounding of utilities.

Is it right for our community or just a select few?

Find out by attending this meeting!

This is your last chance to be heard and to get the correct information about the parking signs that could be on all of our streets.

Nearby Neighborhoods

Our neighborhood has been selected to receive Nearby Neighborhoods, a new feature that allows us to communicate with neighborhoods close to ours. Communicating with nearby neighbors is helpful for:

* Banding together with nearby neighbors to look out for each other and prevent crime.
* Expanding the search for a lost pet.
* Rallying several neighborhoods to support a local cause.

Your privacy will not be compromised. Nextdoor members in nearby neighborhoods can only see posts that we explicitly choose to share with them, and they can never see any of our private content, or our neighborhood directory.

Before the feature rolls out later this week, you can view our list of nearby neighborhoods and personalize it to ensure that you only hear from the neighborhoods that make sense to you:

Great Mechanic

Newton Bros Tire and Auto Service http://www.newtonbrostire.com/ (831) 393-9979

I’ve been going here for years and brothers Doug and Dave have always been able to help. If they can’t fix it they’ll recommend someone who can. They have an amazing team and great prices. They do the job right and in a timely manner. It’s always been easy to get an appointment and I’ve always been satisfied.
