Massive Anchovie Die Off At Beach

Hi Neighbors.

For an unknown reason, a large number of anchovies has come into the harbor. This is most likely due to the above average water temperatures off the California coast which is great for anchovies.This creates a risk of a die-off due to reduced oxygen levels in the water though. The city has aerators working that should help prevent that, but it is very possible that tomorrow we could be faced with a large number of floating dead fish (if the aerators weren’t adequate). In the past the city has found people to help with the cleanup. If anyone is interested in volunteering in the event we are faced with this issue please message me and I will get your name on a list of people that can be notified.
